This morning, community leaders, elected officials, conservation partners, and outdoor advocates gathered at George Poston Park to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the Spencer Mountain Trail Project.
The big picture: Hosted in partnership with Catawba Lands Conservancy and the Carolina Thread Trail, the event marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for outdoor recreation in Gaston County. With a strong showing of public and private support, attendees witnessed the ceremonial turning of dirt — a symbolic first step toward expanding trail access on one of our region’s most iconic natural landmarks.
