For the third year in a row, the Gaston County Board of Commissioners selected Riverbend Township Commissioner Chad Brown to serve as the board Chairman for 2024. The Board made the selection unanimously during its organizational meeting on Tuesday, December 12.
Brown, who is in the middle of his fourth term on the commission, also previously served as mayor for the Town of Stanley and is a Republican candidate for Secretary of State.
Commissioner Bob Hovis, representing the Crowders Mountain Township, was selected as Vice Chairman.
Like Brown, he is serving a third consecutive year in that role.
Hovis is entering the final year of his second term on the board, and is running for re-election in 2024.
