An unidentified manufacturer is contemplating a $21 million investment in a Gaston County business park. An application for state incentives for the development, known as Project Creign, has been received.
Why it matters: Apple Creek, spanning over 300 acres, has attracted $130 million in manufacturing investment since 2020, notably drawing foreign direct investment.
What’s next: If authorized, the application will seek a One N.C. grant to support Project Creign.
In October, the county approved incentives and land conveyance for the project, projecting the creation of 46 jobs with an average annual salary of $59,348.
Documents indicate the project is considering a 15.6-acre site at Apple Creek.
