NC Department of Commerce Gives Another Chance for Business Grants

$203.5 million remains unspent in the Business Recovery Grant program. In the first round of applications, the N.C. Department of Commerce saw plenty of demand for grants to hospitality businesses.

But since non-hospitality businesses were only eligible if they hadn't received a Paycheck Protection Program loan or other COVID-19 assistance, not many applied.

The legislature has since relaxed that requirement, and a new application period will open in May.
