New investment in Gaston County logically began in the eastern areas closest to Charlotte, but development activity and interest in the western part of the county is growing. As part of its GBA Collaborate: Economic Development breakfast series, the GBA is hosting representatives from Cherryville, Bessemer City, and Kings Mountain on Thursday, February 24 to discuss economic development projects in their respective areas. In addition, attendees will hear from the development community about why they have chosen the area for investment.

New Cherryville City Manager Brian Dalton, Bessemer City Manager James Inman and Kings Mountain Manager Marilyn Sellers will all present the latest economic development projects occurring in the West, including updates regarding:

– Downtown Cherryville redevelopment

– Osage Mill

– Two Kings Casino

Following these presentations Bill Simerville, Managing Director for Foundry Commercial and Massie Flippin, Partner for Trinity Capital will discuss the attributes and factors that went into their decision to invest in western Gaston. The breakfast event will take place at GBA Investor Blossom Bakery & Café in downtown Bessemer City (101 E Virginia Ave.) On-street and lot parking available.
